Acoustical Finishes

Acoustical finishes are sound-rated interior texture finishes for ceilings and non-contact surfaces. An acoustical plaster finish is applied over base coat plaster, concrete or gypsum panels. It has enhanced acoustical properties, can reduce reverberation and is used to control interior sound levels. An acoustical plaster can provide sound absorption that conforms to any shape, including curved, domed or vaulted ceilings. They can achieve a rating of up to NRC 1.00.

Venetian and Other Faux Plaster Finishes

Venetian plaster has been used to finish interior walls since ancient times, primarily in Italy, Greece and Egypt. Because Venetian plaster is a lime plaster, it is naturally resistant to mold and mildew. Walls finished with a Venetian plaster are very low maintenance.

Aggregate and faux plaster finishes have become very popular in interior decorating today, and are comprised of lime plasters with a variety of aggregates such as marble or granite chips, or special shimmers. They can be applied to resemble suede, leather, travertine, pearlized, adobe, stucco or fresco, and are available in a broad range of colors.
