Exterior Insulation and Finish Systems (EIFS)

Exterior Insulation and Finish System (EIFS) is an exterior wall cladding. Developed in the 1960s, it usually consists of an expanded polystyrene (EPS) bead board attached adhesively or mechanically to sheathing, followed by a base coat and finish coat. EIFS moisture drainage application includes a fluid-applied weather barrier coupled with the EPS board, a base coat, impact resistive mesh and a finish coat to prevent water from migrating into the underlying walls or interiors.

The popularity of EIFS comes from its insulating qualities to reduce thermal loads on the exterior building wall, as well as its light weight and low cost. The system has the ability to be sculpted or molded into shapes and patterns, especially to produce an exterior that appears to be limestone or a brick-look that is difficult to differentiate from real brick even when viewed side by side.

Saylor’s has won many awards over the years for both our high quality EIFS installations and our ability to install beautiful walls with creative effects. We have been a certified installer of EIFS for over 40 years.
